Add images of similar objects to your website to create a theme.

Graphics can provide an extra flair to your website and increase its popularity. Many websites offer free graphic decorations that include icons, clip-art, backgrounds, buttons and drawings. Some websites offer graphics under a Creative Common Attribution license, making them free for any commercial or personal use. Before you use graphics, check the guidelines on a website's "Help" or "About" page.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit a website that offers free decorations.

    • 2

Right-click on the graphic of your choice and scroll to "Save Image As." Enter the name "Web Graphic 1" and press "Save."

    • 3

Locate and save several new graphics.

    • 4

Open the graphics using a PDF-viewer such as Adobe Acrobat. Look through the graphics and determine which graphics match. Criteria for matching includes shape, theme, color and style. For example, two graphics of Christmas decorations would match.

    • 5

Upload the matching graphics using your website's server. Alternatively, upload the images to a free image-hosting website such as PhotoBucket, TinyPic or ImageShack. Visit the website, login to your account and click on the button that reads "Upload." Click on the "File to Upload" button, highlight the appropriate image and press "OK." Highlight the text in the "HTML" field, right-click and scroll to "Copy."

    • 6

Login to your website and click on the "Edit", "Edit Template" or "Edit HTML" option.

    • 7

Add the image to your page. Locate the text that reads "<body>." Enter the text:

      <table> <tr align="(word of choice)">

Inside the quotations after "align," enter "Center," "Left" or "Right." "Center" places the image in the center of the screen, "Right" places it in the right corner and "Left" places it in the left corner.

    • 8

Place your cursor after the ">," right-click and scroll to "Paste." Enter the text "</tr></table>."
