DeVeDe is video editing and DVD-creation software created especially for Linux and Windows operating systems. DeVeDe is good for creating video DVDs and CDs; it makes DVDs suitable for home players, and it will make DVDs from any video file format supported by Mplayer. It is easily installed from the command line or from within Synaptic Package Manager. It has few dependencies, so it installs quickly with no conflicts.

Instructions

  1. Install DeVeDe Using Synaptic Package Manager

      Open Synaptic Package Manager. Click "System" and select "Administration" followed by "Synaptic Package Manager."

      Type "DeVeDe" into the search box at the top of the window. Hit "Enter."

      Click the white box to the left of the DeVeDe package and description. When the menu pops up, choose "Mark for Installation."

      Click "Apply" at the top of the window on the menu bar. Click "Apply" again when the dialog box appears. Wait while DeVeDe and any dependencies install.

      Start DeVeDe. You will find it in the "Applications" menu under the "Sound and Video" category.

    Install DeVeDe Using Command Line in Linux

      Open the terminal by clicking "Applications" and selecting "Accessories" followed by "Terminal."

      Type "Sudo apt-get install DeVeDe" without quotes and enter the administrative password when prompted.

      Wait while apt-get runs the installation. Type "Y" and hit "Enter" when prompted to do so.

      Open DeVeDe. You will find it in the "Applications" menu under the "Sound and Video" category.
