How to Bypass a Locked iPod

The iPod is a portable multimedia device that offers an FM tuner, video and music playback, as well as playlists, mobile apps and Internet connectivity. You can set a password lock on your iPod to help prevent access by unauthorized users. If you have forgotten your password and entered the wrong password too many times, your iPod will lock and you will not be able to use it. You can unlock it by connecting it to iTunes on your computer and then disconnecting the iPod from iTunes.

  • Open the iTunes application on your computer.

  • Connect your iPod to the computer by inserting one end of its USB cable into the iPod's data port and the other end into the computer's USB port.

  • Double-click the iPod icon on your computer screen underneath "Devices" on the left side.

  • Click the "Eject" link next to the iPod icon. Disconnect the iPod from the computer. You will now be able to access your iPod's contents as the device will no longer be locked.
