Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Visit your old grammar school. Ask to see enrollment cards, date-of-birth information and parents' names for all former classmates that you wish to locate.

  2. Step 2

Check local telephone books in your alma mater town. Many families, or a branch thereof, will still reside in their original hometown.

  3. Step 3

Use the Internet. A vast number of Web sites allow you to search information based on various categories. Search for "locate people" on your search engine to get you started.

  4. Step 4

Search active-duty military databases on the Internet. These updated databases provide accurate information about members of all military branches.

  5. Step 5

Use an Internet-based e-mail search. Most search engines have a section that allows you to gain access to the e-mail addresses of anyone in the world.

  6. Step 6

Talk to your librarian. Libraries often contain the answer to a successful missing person search.

  7. Step 7

Investigate county registrar of voters offices.

  8. Step 8

Visit marriage license bureaus to help you find female classmates by maiden name.

Tips & Warnings
  • When calling possible relatives, be sure to identify yourself immediately as a former classmate and friend to avoid creating unnecessary suspicion.
