How to Unblock Senders in Hotmail

Hotmail's privacy settings allow you to filter junk email as well as block specific addresses from contacting you. Email from blocked senders is automatically deleted before it reaches your inbox. If you've inadvertently blocked a sender or changed your mind about someone you added to the list, sign in to your MSN Hotmail account to change your settings and add the email address to your safe senders list.

  • Log in to your Hotmail account.

  • Mouse over your name, located in the top right corner of the screen. A drop-down window appears -- click "Privacy Settings."

  • Click "Mail" from the menu on the left side of your page.

  • Click "Safe and Blocked Senders," located beneath the "Preventing Junk Email" option.

  • Click "Blocked Senders." A list of your blocked senders appears in the box on the right side of the page. Click the email address you wish to unblock.

  • Click the "Remove from List" button to remove the sender from your blocked senders list.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also ensure emails from trusted senders do not get routed to your junk email folder. From the "Safe and Blocked Senders" page, click "Safe Senders," then type the email address into the designated field.
