The 2008 film "Iron Man" made wearing a superhero suit cool again. To transform yourself into Iron Man for Halloween or anytime, make an easy homemade Iron Man suit. Look for some key items around the house or borrow them from a neighbor. Print out an Iron Man helmet and spray it gold and red for an authentic look. It may be homemade but it is just as cool as the real deal.

Things You'll Need

  • Heavy weight paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Gold spray paint
  • Red spray paint
  • Tight long-sleeved red shirt
  • Red pants
  • Red or gold hockey shoulder pads
  • Red or gold shin guards

Print out an Iron Man helmet from Paper Craft Museum. This wearable helmet looks authentic and will be the key to a realistic looking costume. Print it out from your printer using heavyweight paper such as card stock.

Cut out the helmet with scissors and follow the directions on where to glue the pieces. Spray the eye, nose and chin areas gold with gold spray paint. Paint the sides and the forehead with red spray paint. Allow it to dry overnight.

Wear a tight red long-sleeved shirt and red pants. This will be the base of your easy homemade costume. If you can borrow a red long-sleeved body suit, it will look more realistic.

Put on red or gold hockey shoulder pads. This will create the look of the Iron Man armor suit. You can purchase them at an athletic store or ask a friend.

Wear red or gold shin guards that are used for soccer. These will give the look of Iron Man's legs and feet. Place the dried helmet on your head.
