Personalize your RV with a flag.

Camping in a motor home is an adventure. If you choose to camp at an RV park, you may find yourself crammed in tightly, with rows of other motor homes. It may be hard to find your site again after you leave. Adding a motor home flag to your RV gives it an identifying feature and allows you to show a bit of your personality to your fellow campers.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the size of your motor home flag based on the specific type of flag pole or mounting device you have. Choose a smaller size, like 1 foot by 2 feet, if you don't have a tall pole. Select a more standard flag size, like 3 feet by 5 feet, if you want to draw attention to your flag.

    • 2

Cut a piece of fabric, such as polyester, vinyl or anything suitable for outdoor use, to your desired size, allowing an extra 1 inch on each border to use in seaming. Use a measuring tape and fabric chalk to draw the flag outline before cutting with scissors.

    • 3

Fold the side of the flag over 1 inch and use a sewing machine or needle and thread to create a seam.

    • 4

Install two brass grommets along the seamed edge so that you can hang the flag once it is complete. Load a grommet punch tool with a grommet. Place the tool over the location where you want the hole, and press downward.

    • 5

Decorate the flag in the method of your choice --- perhaps paint on a design that represents your motor home or family crest, sewing fabric lettering and pictures onto the flag's field. Give your RV a name, and write it on the flag using permanent fabric markers.

    • 6

Attach your flag to your RV's flagpole using the grommets.
