How to Fix an LG Plasma
Plasma TVs are high-definition televisions that compete with LED and LCD TVs in the marketplace. LG is one of the main producers of Plasma TVs. While LG Plasma TVs offer many advantages such as strong color contrast and over 100,000 hours of life, sometimes they will run into issues that require troubleshooting. Often, repairs to plasma TVs can be done at home. There are ways to fix your LG plasma television without having to send it into LG for an expensive repair.

Poor-Quality Picture
-
1
Press "Menu" on your remote control and select "Channel" from the menu that is displayed.
-
2
Scroll down to "Manual Tuning" to view your LG television's signal strength for the channel with bad picture quality. The picture quality will be displayed indicating "Bad," "Normal" or "Good."
-
-
3
Make sure the cable is secured into the back of your television. Check the cable that is connected to your television. If the cable is secured and the picture quality is still poor, try using a different cable.
-
4
Contact your cable or satellite service and inform them that you have checked the picture quality and tested the stability of the cable running into the plasma television. Tell them that you believe there is a problem with the picture signal running into your house.

Check the main power switch of your LG TV. If the TV is plugged into an outlet and there is still no indication of power, you may need to turn this switch on. It is located either below or on the backside of your television, depending on the LG model number. If the TV is now receiving power, there will be a red indicator light on.
-
6
Press the power button on the TV itself, if the remote control is not working. The red indicator light noted in Step 1 will turn either blue or green, depending on what LG TV you have, once the power is turned on.

Plug your TV into another outlet, or reset your surge protector if your TV is plugged into one. If the TV is still not receiving power, you will need to contact LG for support.
