Choose your fruits and vegetables. Juice Plus contains a wide variety and colors of fruits and vegetables, designed to give you a full spectrum of the potent compounds called phytochemicals that are present. Juice Plus uses cranberry, orange, apple, peach, pineapple, oat bran, carrot, tomato, cabbage, kale, parsley, spinach, papaya, beet, cherry, broccoli and brown rice bran. You can copy the Juice Plus formula or make up your own, using local or exotic fruits.
Locate your powdered fruits and vegetables. A wide range of powdered fruits and vegetables are available through health food vendors, ethnic food retailers and online supplement dealers. Bulk powdered fruits and vegetables are available by the ounce or pound. Buying an ounce of each of the fruits or vegetables that you are including in your personal Juice Plus formula is sufficient for making several jars of the product, depending on how many different ingredients you are including.
Order your fruits and vegetables. Juice Plus contains several superfoods that are easy to find in powdered form and are highly concentrated sources of specific phytochemicals. Acerola cherries which are high in Vitamin C, and powdered tomato which is high in lycopene, are two examples. Order a variety of ingredients with similar high-nutrition profiles so that your blend has a full spectrum of fruit and vegetable nutrients.
Mix your ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Add equal amounts of each ingredient or add extra amounts of specific ingredients for flavor or added nutrition. Stir the mix until it is thoroughly mixed and all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Pour your powdered Juice Plus substitute into air tight jars or similar containers to keep them fresh. Use two to four spoonfuls of your personal powdered fruit and vegetable mix in blended juice drinks, smoothies and protein shakes.
