How to Set Auto Refresh on Yahoo! Widgets

Yahoo! Widgets is a computer program that displays small utility applications, called widgets, on your computer desktop. Using the Yahoo! Widgets platform, many developers create and distribute widgets that you can use with the Yahoo! Widgets program. Certain widgets have the option to auto refresh, which prompts the widget to automatically connect to the Internet and update itself at a preselected interval. If you have a widget installed that supports the auto refresh feature, you can set it up using the widget's "Options" menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on "Start," "Programs," "Yahoo! Widgets" to launch Yahoo! Widgets on your computer, if not already running.

    • 2

Click the gear icon on the widget on the Yahoo! Widgets heads-up display to access that particular widget's options. A pop-up window appears.

    • 3

Browse through the options and locate an option such as "Auto-Refresh Interval" or "Update Interval."

    • 4

Click the drop-down menu and select the frequency for which you want the widget to automatically connect to the Internet and update.

    • 5

Click "Save" to save your changes and exit the "Options" menu.
