How to Create a Firefox Persona on a Mac

The Mozilla Firefox Web browser allows multiple users to customize the same Firefox installation. The browser can look and behave quite differently for different users; moreover, configuration changes applied by a given user have no impact on other users' experience. Each user's preferences are stored in his "persona," or profile.

Instructions

    • 1

Exit Firefox if it is running.

    • 2

      Click "Applications," then "Utilities."

    • 3

Double-click on "Terminal." A new window opens, with a prompt for text-mode commands.

    • 4

Type the following command into the Terminal window:

      firefox -ProfileManager

Press "Enter." Firefox's Profile Manager utility opens in a new window.

    • 5

Create a new profile by clicking on "Create Profile," then on "Next." Choose a profile name and type it into the text field, then click "Finish." Firefox creates the new profile.
