How to Use a PX4D Pandora
The PX4D Pandora is a digital guitar effects processor from Korg, a company that also makes keyboards and synthesizers. Guitar and bass players can use the PX4D Pandora to tweak the tone of their instruments to get the exact sound they are looking for. You use the Pandora PX4D with an electric guitar and amplifier, as well as two sets of guitar cables to make the proper connections.

Slide the battery cover off of the back of the PX4D and insert four AAA batteries into the compartment, matching the polarity symbols printed on the batteries and the inside of the compartment. Slide the battery cover back onto the device until you hear it click and lock into place.

Connect one of the cables to the "Input" jack on your electric guitar. Connect the other end of this cable to the "Input" jack at the bottom of the PX4D. Connect the other cable to the "Output" jack located at the top of the PX4D. Connect the opposite end of this cable to the "Input" jack on your amp. You also can connect this cable to a recording system, or plug in headphones if you want.

Slide the "Power" switch located on the right side of the PX4D to the "On" position. Once it is turned on, play any string on the guitar to gauge the volume level. You can adjust the volume on the unit by turning the "Vol" knob until it is in a comfortable range.

Press the "Up" and "Down" buttons on the the front of the PX4D to scroll through the pre-set programs in the unit's internal memory. You will see the name of the program on the display. Each program will make the guitar sound different -- adding reverb and distortion and changing tones and pitch.

Press the "Amp Selector" button to begin making your own custom program. Press the "Left" and "Right" buttons to cycle through available effects such as "Modulation," "Reverb" and "Noise Cancellation." Press the "Up" and "Down" buttons to select the effect and use the "Dial" to adjust how much of the effect to add.

Play the guitar as you adjust the settings of your custom program to hear how it will sound. When you have all of the effects set, press the "Right" button repeatedly until you see "Program Name" button.

Name the program by turning the dial to select a letter and pressing the "Up" button to move to the next letter. Press the "Right" button, then use the dial to choose a number to save the program to. Press "Enter/Rec" to save the program.
