How to Use Backgrounds With Skype

If you frequently use Skype to keep in touch with family and friends abroad or across the country, chances are you will spend a lot of time looking at the Skype interface. If the standard Skype background and color schemes are not to your taste, you can alter these settings using Skype's Tools menu. Skype allows you to pick a custom color or background image for your installation, including images stored on your computer.

Instructions

1. Open Skype. Type your login credentials in the boxes and click "Sign In."

2. Click "Tools," then click "Options."

3. Click "Choose a wallpaper to change how Skype looks."

4. Click on the "Use Wallpaper" option in the window that appears.

5. Click on one of the wallpapers displayed to apply it to your Skype installation.

6. Click "Browse" and select an image from your hard drive if you would like to apply a custom wallpaper to your Skype installation.

7. Click on the "Pick a Preset Color" option. Click on one of the color themes offered to apply it to your Skype installation.

8. Click "Apply" when finished, then click "OK."
