How to Make a Personal Tab on Facebook

Customize your Facebook page by adding personal tabs.

Though Facebook does not allow you to make many coding adjustments to personal profiles, you can add a personal tab to any Facebook fan pages that you administrate. There are several applications that allow you to make custom tabs on your Facebook pages using FBML or Facebook Markup Language, which is Facebook's internal flavor of HTML. You can put personal information on the tab, add pictures or give page users coupons or codes for your products or services. To add any of these applications, push the "Go to App" button on the application page, and allow it access to your account.

Instructions

1. Create a personal tab on your Facebook page using the Static FBML application. This is a free application put out by Facebook. Add the application, and go to your page. Click on the button to "Edit Page." In the left column, go to the "Applications" option. Scroll down to Static FBML, and click on the link to "Go to Application." Change the title of your Static FBML tab, and add any FBML coding to the field beneath it.

2. Add FBML Tab Maker to your Facebook page to add a custom personal tab. Click, "Go to Application," and select the page you want to use to add a tab. Add the information you want on the tab, and push "Save Changes" to save your new tab. Press the "OK" button to allow the application to add the tab to your page. Navigate back to your applications list on your page, and click the "Edit Settings" link under FBML Tab Maker to change the title of your tab.

3. Customize a tab using the TabSite application. TabSite is a free application that allows you to add a custom personal tab to your Facebook page with a graphical editor. If you know FBML it helps, but you do not have to use it with TabSite.

4. Set a custom landing tab using the PageLever application. PageLever provides a simple editor to use for free, but the more comprehensive options require a subscription fee. They also help you to maximize your page views and optimize your business Facebook page to get lots of traffic.

5. Use the North Social applications to add many tabs to your Facebook page. North Social is also a company that helps your business page get as many views as possible using many different applications. The applications create tabs on your page. For a monthly fee, you have access to all of the applications North Social uses on Facebook.
