The Putty program allows you to connect to IBM mainframe computers, UNIX terminals and other appliances right from your computer desktop, without the need to purchase expensive terminal emulation software. Like other terminal emulation software packages, Putty allows users to configure their connections, including turning the line wrap feature on or off.
Step 1
Log on to your computer and click the "Start" button. Choose "Putty" from the list of options and wait for the Putty configuration window to open.

Go to the "System" menu and choose "Change Settings." Click on the "Terminal Configuration" panel in Putty and verify the auto wrap settings. The auto wrap feature is on by default in Putty.
Step 3
Click the "System" menu again and click "Change Settings." Choose the "Reset Terminal" option to force the new auto wrap settings to take effect.
