How to Replace a Kenmore 70 Series Dryer Burner Assembly

Kenmore 70 Series automatic dryers come in both gas and electric models. Each gas model is equipped with a burner assembly that works along with the ignitor to provide heat to the interior of the dryer. A broken burner assembly prevents the dryer from producing adequate heat during a drying cycle. Replace the faulty assembly with a new one to allow your Kenmore dryer to heat properly. Instructions

    • 1

      Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet. Turn off the gas line valve leading to the Kenmore 70 Series dryer.

      Loosen the screw holding the vent clamp in place. Slide the vent off the back of the dryer.

      Disconnect the gas line from the rear of the Kenmore dryer.

      Remove the screws along the edges of the back panel. Lift the panel away from the dryer and set aside.

      Loosen the bolt holding the burner assembly in place. Remove the assembly from the dryer.

      Insert the new burner assembly. Tighten the bolt that secures it to the dryer cabinet.

      Reverse the disassembly steps to put the Kenmore 70 Series dryer back together.
