The PS3 is short for the PlayStation 3. This console lets you play video games. It also provides a variety of outputs that lets you play other devices. For example, you may connect your PS3 console with your DirecTV satellite system. This allows you to record your favorite shows and watch them through the PS3 console. This is an ideal option if you want to record a show while you are away at work, on vacation or on an errand run. First, you need to hook up your console to your DirecTV system.
Things You'll Need
- Video/audio cables
Connect your PS3 console to your DirecTV satellite box with one of the outputs. Use HDMI, composite or component cables, depending on the type of cable you have to connect to your PS3's "AV Multi Out" port.
Connect the DVR output to the TV input with the cable that came with the PS3. This connects the DVR function to your PS3.
Turn on your television and tune it to the DVR input. Turn on both the DVR and PS3 console.
Turn to a channel or show you want to record. Press the "Record" button on your DVR or remote. This will begin the recording of the show, and it will save to both your television and PS3 console.
