How to Turn Photos Into Pumpkin Carving Stencils
Carving pumpkins with stencils is an easy way to get a polished, carved pumpkin. You can make your own pumpkin stencil from a photo by copying the image on a photocopier. This allows you to use a favorite personal photo for your carving project. Then, you only need a few simple tools to complete the project. Copy the photo you want to carve with using a photocopier. Enlarge the image on the photocopier if you want it larger. Print out the copied image onto plain printer paper.

Cut the top off the pumpkin using a sharp carving knife and set aside. Scoop out all of the innards and discard.

Tape the copied photo stencil to the front of the pumpkin. Punch holes along the perimeter of the image using a nail, making one hole about every half inch or so.

Remove the stencil and cut out the image created by the holes. Use a sharp knife to connect the dots, cutting out the desired image.

Light a candle and place it inside the pumpkin. Replace the top of the pumpkin and set outside.
