How to Replace Pearl Caps on Snap Buttons
The pearl cap in a snap button is a small, decorative piece that resembles a real pearl. The underside of the decorative pearl is flat and sits at the top in the the center of a button snap. The decorative part of the pearl is visible on top of the snap. If the pearl is damaged and needs replacing, you can replace the pearl yourself with a nail file and super glue. Put on your safety goggles. Lay the snap button flat or the garment that has the snap button flat with the decorative side up.

Insert the sharp end of a nail file into the area between the pearl cap and the snap button portion surrounding the decorative pearl cap. Forcefully bend the nail file backward until the pearl cap pops off.

Purchase a replacement pearl cap from any fabric or crafts store. Turn the replacement pearl cap over so the decorative side faces down and the flat side faces up. Place a small dot of strong glue in the center of the flat portion of the pearl cap.

Insert the flat portion of the pearl cap with the glue into the center of the button snap where the old pearl cap once sat. Press the pearl cap into the button snap for five seconds to set the glue. Allow the glue to dry for five minutes.
