The Cisco Linksys WRT54GC is a wireless broadband router that supports wireless transmission in both the G and B modes. It has four 10/100 Ethernet ports and supports both the WEP and WPA wireless security protocols. If the settings for your Cisco Linksys WRT54GC wireless router have gotten messed up or if you forgot the login password, to fix the problem you will need to carry out a complete reset.

  • Turn on the router if it isn't on already and press and hold the "Reset" button on the back of the unit for 10 seconds.

  • Log in to a connected computer, type "http://192.168.1.1" into the address bar of your web browser and then type "admin" in the "Password" box when prompted to log in the router configuration.

  • Click on "Administration" and then select the "Management" section. Type a new password in the "Router Password" box, press the "Tab" button and then type the same password again.
