Embedding a UPS tracking number into an email makes it easy for the email recipient to track a package. This also eliminates a few steps in the process of using the Internet to track your package. Using this method enables one-click tracking from the body of the email. This also makes it easy for you to forward the email and the accompanying tracking number to additional email addresses.

Locate the tracking number for your package. This can be found on your UPS receipt.

Go to the UPS package tracking website. (See Resource 1)

Enter your tracking number into the box labeled "Track by Number" and click the "Track" button.

Click the "Add Notification" button on the right side of the screen.

Under "Recipient 1" add your email address. At the bottom of the form enter your name and your email address. You can use the same email address in both sections. Click "Done."

Open your email and locate the message from UPS with the tracking information attached.

Copy the tracking number. This tracking number will contain an embedded hyperlink.

Compose a new email and paste the copied tracking number into the body of the email. Doing this will enable the receiver of the email click on the hyperlinked tracking number and receive the most current tracking information.
