How to Shake the Other Person's Screen in "Skype Bowling"

Skype's main functions include chatting with your friends, calling phones from your computer and engaging in voice and video calls with other Skype users. One of its lesser-known functions is the option to play games with your Skype contacts. One of these games, All-Star Bowling, is a bowling game that you can play against a friend. As in real bowling, you can send the ball straight or add curve, and aiming correctly is vital to getting a good score. To distract your friend during his shot, or to remind him that it's his turn, shake his Skype screen.

  • Click "Tools" and then hover your mouse over "Extras" within Skype. This opens a list of options. Click "Games" in this list to open a list of games.

  • Click "All-Star Bowling" and then select the friend with whom you wish to play. Click "Continue." Wait for your friend to accept the invitation and for the game to begin.

  • Click "Commands" in the upper left corner of the screen. This opens a list of options.

  • Click "Shake It!" in the list of options. This shakes your opponent's Skype screen while making a squeaking nose.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your opponent shakes your screen and you do not wish to be distracted, click "Commands" and then "Enable shakes that I receive" to remove the check by this option. This means your opponent can no longer shake your screen.
