How to Tell When My iPod Shuffle Is Finished Charging

Save

When the battery in your iPod shuffle is drained and you can no longer listen to music, you must recharge its battery. However, unlike other versions of the iPod, the shuffle does not include a screen where you can view the status of the battery. To help you determine how much battery power remains, the iPod shuffle features a status light that displays different colors depending on the status of the iPod. You can use this light to determine when the battery is fully charged.

  • Connect the iPod shuffle to a computer using the USB cable that came with the device. Alternatively, connect the iPod shuffle to the USB cable that came with the device, connect the USB cable to an AC power adapter and then plug the adapter into an available AC outlet.

  • Locate the status light on the top of the iPod shuffle. As the iPod charges, the status light is orange and does not blink.

  • Unplug the USB cable from the iPod when the status light turns green. A green light indicates the device is fully charged.
