Why Can't I Upload Photos From My iPhone to Facebook?

By Matt McGew

The Facebook application for your iPhone allows you to upload photos stored in your iPhone's Photos application to your Facebook account. The Facebook application is a free application available from Apple's App Store. If you cannot upload photos, you should verify your cellular data or Wi-Fi connection before reinstalling the Facebook application.

Cellular Data Connection

Tap the "Settings" icon on your iPhone and select the "General" option. Tap the "Network" button and verify that the switches to the right of the "Enable 3G" and the "Cellular Data" option say "ON." Should either of these switches say "OFF," slide the switch to the "ON" position.

Wi-Fi Connection

Press the Home button on your iPhone and tap the "Settings" icon. Tap the "General" button and then tap the "Settings" button. Scroll up and select the "Wi-Fi" option. Verify that the Wi-Fi switch says "ON" or move the switch to the "ON" position. Select the Wi-Fi network you want to connect. Enter the password for the network if connecting to a secured Wi-Fi network.

Reinstall Facebook Application

Press and hold the Facebook icon on your iPhone. The icons will start to shake after a few seconds. Release the icon and tap the "X" symbol on the icon to delete the Facebook application. Confirm that you want to delete the application from your iPhone. Tap the "App Store" icon and select the "Search" option. Enter "Facebook" in the search bar and select the application. Tap "Free" and select the "Install" button to reinstall the Facebook application.

Upload Photo

Tap the "Facebook" icon on your iPhone. Log in to your Facebook account. Tap the "Photo" button. Select the "Choose From Library" option and tap the "Camera Roll" button. Select the photo that you want to upload to your Facebook account. Tap the blue "Upload" button to upload the photo. The Facebook application will prompt you once the photo successfully uploads to your account.
