How to Deactivate Smart Roaming

Smart Communications is the leading telecommunications company in the Philippines. If you are traveling to the Philippines and will be using a local cell service, it will likely be Smart. This company provides a service that automatically roams, looking for international service if you happen to be out of the country. If you would like to disable this feature, you can do so in about a minute.

  • Open your Web browser and navigate to Smart's account website.

  • Enter your Smart cellular phone number and your password. If you don't have an online account, you can create one quickly by clicking on the "Create Account" link on the page.

  • Click on the "Service Activation/Deactivation Block."

  • Click "International Roaming." The phone will now be blocked. An alternative to a Web-based block is to text "ROAM OFF" to 333.
