The cubic centimeter (cc) is a unit of volume for measuring quantities of fluid. A cubic centimeter is the same as a milliliter, which is one-thousandth of a liter. Gallons per minute (GPM) is a unit of volumetric flow. Gallons per minute might describe the flow of water down a pipe or the output of an industrial process. To convert between one unit and the other, you must take into account the number of minutes a system takes to transfer a volume of fluid.
Divide the quantity of fluid that the system transports, measured in cubic centimeters, by 1,000 to convert it to liters. For example, if you are converting a volume of 200,000 cc: 200,000/1.000 = 200 liters.
Divide this answer by 3.79 to convert it to gallons. Continuing the example: 200/3.79 = 52.77 gallons.
Divide the result by the time the system takes to carry the volume. For example, if it takes 4 minutes: 52.77/4 = 13.19. This is the flow rate measured in GPM.
