How to Change Mouse Pointer Sizes in OpenSUSE

Larger mouse pointer themes are easier to see.

OpenSUSE, an open-source Linux distribution that forms the basis of Novell's SUSE Linux Enterprise product, includes a variety of mouse pointer themes by default. Each mouse pointer theme is a fixed-size, but you can make the mouse pointer larger or smaller by changing the pointer theme to one of the other themes included with OpenSUSE. The process for changing the mouse pointer theme in OpenSUSE depends on whether you're using the KDE or GNOME desktop.

Instructions

KDE Desktop

1. Click the "K" menu on the panel at the bottom of your screen and select "Configure Desktop" or "System Settings."

2. Select "Keyboard & Mouse" under Computer Administration in the settings window.

3. Click the "Mouse" icon at the left side of the Keyboard & Mouse screen.

4. Click the "Cursor Theme" tab at the top of the Mouse pane.

5. Select a different mouse point theme by clicking it in the list of mouse pointer themes, then click "Apply."

GNOME Desktop

1. Click the "Computer" menu on the panel at the bottom of the desktop and select "Control Center."

2. Click "Look and Feel" in the Control Center window and click the "Appearance" icon.

3. Click the "Customize" button under the list of themes on the Theme tab.

4. Click the "Pointer" tab.

5. Select a different-size mouse pointer theme by clicking it in the list of pointer themes, then click "Close" twice.
