1
Ensure the paper tray for the automatic document feeder does not have more than 10 sheets of paper loaded if the printer is jamming. Use standard 20 lb. paper in the machine. Using more than 10 sheets of paper or thicker paper can impede or prevent the printer's performance.
-
2
Check the paper for curls, wrinkles, folds, staples, paper clips, tape or tears if the paper prints unevenly or jams. The auto document feeder can become misaligned or print improperly if foreign objects are processed through the printer or the paper is misshapen. Use only fresh, clean sheets of paper for printing.

3
Adjust the paper guides on the auto document feeder to fit the width of the document. Incorrectly calibrated paper guides can cause the paper to print unevenly or lead to paper jams. Refer to the document print settings in the word processing software being used to find correct paper dimensions.
