Many people customize their voice mail greetings with witty jokes and funny voices to make it personal, rather than using an automated greeting. Sometimes there are songs that suit a voice mail greeting. Unfortunately, no phone providers, or even third-party companies, offer a way to use songs for voice mail messages. If you still want one, however, you can record the song on your voice mail message yourself.
Step 1
Open your phone's voice mail settings. Although it varies for some phones, dialing "1" commonly brings users to their voice mail.

Select the option to change your voice mail greeting.
Step 3
Set up the music to where you want your voice mail greeting to begin. You can use a radio, CD player, MP3 player, computer or other device to play the music.
Step 4
Hold your phone near the music player.
Step 5
Press the "Record" button on your voicemail greeting and the "Play" button on your music simultaneously.
Step 6
Press "Stop" when you are finished
