How to Cure and Get Over Burnout
Burnout is a serious problem because it leads to a lack of productivity that, ironically, comes from too much productivity. If you work twice as hard as you usually would for a week, then can't work for two weeks, you're ultimately less productive than if you hadn't burned yourself out. Sometimes, work or social pressures pile up, whether you want them to or not, and burnout is inevitable. Curing burnout is a multistage process that requires a healthy dose of commitment and self-awareness.

1
Wake up a little earlier and do something relaxing before you start your day in earnest. Burnout is sometimes caused by feeling like you're constantly on the go, so if you start your day with 15 or 20 minutes of an activity that is all about you, you will be more relaxed through the rest of the day.

2
Reassess where your priorities lie. Are you burning out because you're working incredibly hard and spending minimal amounts of time with your family? Maybe you need to change your priorities and work less. Burnout can often come from chasing a goal that is no longer important to you, so think about what is really important in your life.

3
Confront your negative feelings. Burnout comes with cynicism, denial and other feelings that drag you down. You need to take a look at these feelings, ask yourself whether they're rational, and, if they're not, ask yourself what you can do to change them.

4
Talk to a close friend about how you feel. Burnout can make you feel alone, and the act of discussing it with someone can help get it off your chest and make you feel much better.
-
5
Slow your life down. You don't need to say "yes" to everything that lands on your desk, and you don't need to agree to go to every social event. If you do less, you'll have a much greater appreciation for the things you do choose to take part in, which will lessen your sense of burnout.
