How to Get Lionheart on CD 1 of "Final Fantasy 8"
Squall's Lion Heart is the most powerful gunblade in "Final Fantasy VIII," and it's possible to get this weapon on the game's first disc. With the Lion Heart, Squall can perform his ultimate Limit Break attack, a deadly assault that will make quick work of even the toughest enemies.
To obtain the Lion Heart, you will need 12 Pulse Ammo, four Dragon Fangs, and one Admantine. Once you've got all of the ingredients, the Lion Heart will be yours after a visit to the Junk Shop in Deling City.

Play through the game's plot until you gain access to the Training Center in Balamb Garden. Fight T-Rexaur enemies that are between Levels 20 and 30 to obtain four Dragon Fangs. These items are a rare drop, so it may take some time to acquire all four.

Proceed with the main plot until you reach Dollet. Go to the beach near the city and fight Admantoises that are above Level 30. Win an Admantine, then head to Timber to continue the story.

Continue through the plot to the Centra Ruins, where you'll be playing as Laguna, Ward and Kiros. Mug the Elastoid enemies until you've obtained three Laser Cannons. Use Ifrit's Ammo-RF ability to refine these into 15 Pulse Ammo.

Complete Centra Ruins, Galbadia Garden and the assassination attempt. Take the train to Deling City. Board the bus and ride it to the Shopping Arcade. Enter the Junk Shop at the lower right of the screen and pay 2000 Gil to obtain the Lion Heart gunblade.

Tips & Warnings
The Lion Heart appears in the first issue of Weapons Monthly, but you don't need to find the magazine before obtaining it.
Upon equipping the Lion Heart, Squall will receive a plus-30 Strength boost.
Mug the Admantoises to get Whispers, which will teach Quistis a Blue Magic called White Wind.
Use an extra Laser Cannon on Quistis to teach her Homing Laser Blue Magic.
