Get rid of all the cards in your hand. Play the game according to the rules and compete to be the first person to get rid of all of your cards. Do not forget that when you are down to one card to yell "UNO!" to alert everyone you are about to win the hand.

Record the points for each card remaining in the other players' hand. All numbered cards have a point value based on the face of the card. For example, a "2" is worth two points. All "Draw 2," "Reverse" and "Skip" cards each have a value of 20 points. "Wild" and "Draw 4 Wild" cards have a value of 50 points each. Add up the number of points for each player and write them down.

    • 3

Add up the points from your opponents' hands. Calculate your score by adding up all the cards left in the hands of the other players. If the score is less than 500 play again until one player reaches a total of 500 points.

Play an alternative way. You can also play a different version of the game by calculating points for each player's hand. Add up the points for each player at the end of a hand and keep a running total. When one reaches 500 points the player with the lowest points wins the game.

Play elimination, or challenge, UNO. Play the game as usual and give points to each player who is left with cards in his hand. When a player reaches 500 points he is eliminated. The game will continue until there is one player remaining. She is the winner.
