How to Master the Corners in "Need for Speed: Shift"

"Need For Speed: Shift" is a 3-D racing game that sees you careering round 36 tracks as you work your way up the game's different tiers to its World Tour climax. Cornering is inevitably a large part of the game and, to be rewarded for mastering each corner, you must learn the basic skills required to make each corner your own.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the "Easy" option in the game menu to display the optimum racing line on the track as you race round. Slow down as you approach a corner if the line is orange or red; you want the line to be green as you go round. Enter on the outside of the corner before moving in toward its apex as you go round.

    • 2

Accelerate as you begin to come out of the corner so you exit at high speed.

    • 3

Switch off the optimum racing line option in the game menu once you have learned the track and try taking the corners without visual assistance to master them properly.

    • 4

Accrue aggression points by going into the side of a competitor's car as you both enter the same corner. The other car's trajectory will help you "slam" round the corner and also score you points in the process.

Use online maps and guides to study the track before you head out for a precision drive.
