Instructions for "Final Fantasy Tactics"
"Final Fantasy Tactics" eschews the usual turn-based formula for games in this series and features a strategic battle system instead. This 1998 Sony PlayStation title centers on a squire, Ramza, who fights with his friend Delita against evil forces. Most of the game takes place on a grid, and you move your party strategically across the battlefield to defeat opposing forces. The controls are relatively simple, allowing younger gamers to enjoy the action.

Use the directional pad to choose options in the menus. Hold the "Square" button to move around the map with the directional pad.

Confirm actions in the menus with the "Circle" button. Cancel an action by pressing "X."

Press the "Triangle" button to open a menu and to pause the game during auto battles.

Rotate the map to the left with the "L1" button. Rotate the map to the right with the "R1" button.

Zoom in closer in the battlefield by pressing "L2." Press it again to zoom back out.

Cycle through the angles of the camera in the battlefield by pressing "R2."

Press "Start" to view the closest unit to the cursor on the battlefield.
