Instructions

    • 1

Decide what size you want your coverlet to be. In addition to the size of the bed, remember to allow extra for draping down the sides and at the end of the bed.

    • 2

Use a slip knot to attach your yarn to your crochet hook.

    • 3

Make sufficient chains for the width of coverlet you want. Using worsted-weight yarn and a size G crochet hook, four chains make one inch.

    • 4

Work a triple crochet stitch into the chain nearest the hook and each subsequent chain. At the end of the row, chain four stitches and turn to start the next row.

    • 5

Work a triple crochet into the space between each triple crochet in the proceeding row. At the end of the row, chain four stitches and turn to start the third row. Change yarn colors to add interest either randomly or to make stripes of a specific number of rows.

    • 6

Continue working rows until your coverlet is the length you desire.

    • 7

Cut off the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitch on the hook. Thread the yarn through a darning needle and sew a few stitches to secure the yarn. Trim off excess yarn.
