How to Find Replacement Parts for Used Campers

Whether you've owned a camper for years or recently purchased a vintage model, it can be challenging to find replacement parts. Over the years, some parts stay the same, while others change with each new model. If you need to replace a part before heading out on your next vacation trip, you may be forced to settle for a compatible part rather than an original piece. There are several resources can help you find replacement parts for used and vintage campers.

1. Take note of the year, model and make of your camper. Write it down for future reference.

2. Look through trade publications or for-sale-by-owner publications for used parts for sale. Search online discussion groups for old and vintage camping equipment. Look at online auction websites for replacement parts.

3. Contact a local camper or RV dealer and inquire about replacement parts. Dealerships may be able to order parts for newer campers or suggest a parts supplier to you.

4. Talk to locals at auto auctions and RV shows to find out where collectors find used and vintage parts for their campers.

5. Check out salvage yards for old camper parts similar to yours. Junk yards often sell parts directly from vehicles on their lots.

6. Call the camper's manufacturer directly. If you own a vintage camper, a dealer may not be able to order replacement parts for you. A manufacturer, however, may be able to tell where to look for available or compatible parts.
