How to Create an AOL Screen Name With a Lower Case First Letter
When you create an America Online screen name for mail, AOL Instant Messenger or other services, you'll find that the screen name creation permits you to make a screen name which does not start with a capital letter. You set up your screen name during the account creation process, so you need to ensure that you have the correct case on the first letter in your name when you are setting up your account. Once the account has been created, you will not be able to change this information.

Go to AOL.com in your preferred Web browser.

Click the AIM icon in the upper right hand corner, then click on "Get a username."

Enter your first and last name in the first two fields.

Create your username, making sure to keep the first letter lower case, in the third field. Create a password, confirm it, then click "Create."

Provide the personal information required on the next page, such as your date of birth and gender. Choose a security question from the drop down list provided. Give an alternative email if needed.

Click "Next." Enter the captcha security code to confirm you are a human attempting to register an account. Click "Sign Up," and "OK" to complete the process.
