How to Turn on Closed Caption on a Comcast RNG110 Box

Comcast customers require a cable box to receive the digital television signal. There are several different models that Comcast provides to its TV customers, one of which is the Pace RNG110 High-Definition Television (HDTV) cable box. This device provides HD service for HDTVs. While these TVs come with their own built-in closed captioning, sometimes this does not work. However, the RNH110 box comes with a closed caption feature itself that can be turned on in a few minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Power" button on your Comcast remote to turn off the green "Power" light on your RNG100 box. This is done with your TV still on.

    • 2

Press the "Menu" button on your Comcast remote. The User Settings menu will appear on your TV screen.

    • 3

Press the down arrow on your remote until you highlight "Closed Captions" in the menu.

    • 4

Press the right arrow on your remote. The Closed Captions menu will appear.

    • 5

Press the "OK/Select" button on your remote to change the closed captions setting to "On."

    • 6

Press the left arrow on your remote to return to the User Settings menu, then press the "Power" button on your remote to return to normal viewing.
