How to Move an iTunes Library to an External Hard Drive and Not Lose the Play Count

ITunes is a free music management program that allows you to download and play songs. Songs downloaded in iTunes are stored locally in an iTunes library folder. If you have purchased a new computer, you may want to transfer your iTunes library to your new account. You can back up and copy an entire music library to an external hard drive without losing your music or play count.

      Double-click the "Users" folder and then double-click the name of the user account with the iTunes music library.
