How to Install Evolution in Ubuntu

How to Install Evolution in Ubuntu thumbnail
Evolution allows you to manage your time and contacts in a single integrated application.

Evolution is an open-source personal information management program designed for Linux systems that use the GNOME desktop, such as Ubuntu. The program combines the features of an email client, address book, calendar and personal task manager in one, allowing the user to organize all their personal relations from one place. Due to the simplicity of Ubuntu's Software Center package management program, Evolution can be quickly and easily installed with just a few clicks.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the "Ubuntu Software Center." This is the globe-and-tools-in-a-paper-bag icon on the left of your screen, if you're using Unity. If you're using classic GNOME, it can be found under the "Applications" menu in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Enter "Evolution" into the search box found in the upper-right corner of the "Software Center" window. Select the program from the list, and then click "Install."

    • 3

Enter your password for verification and wait for the installation process to complete. This will take a few seconds, during which a progress bar will display how close it is to completion. When it is finished, the bar will disappear, and you will be able to run Evolution from your "Applications" menu.
