Digiq Guru Troubleshooting
The DigiQ DX is the digital controller for the BBQ Guru, an automatic temperature control used in fire pit barbeques. The BBQ Guru uses a microprocessor in conjunction with probes and a fan to monitor and maintain specific meat temperatures while cooking. The DigiQ DX controller tracks pit temperature, meat temperature, how many degrees from being done, the cooking rate and "doneness." The BBQ Guru has several food applications, including the drying and smoking of jerky, bread baking, making pizza and grilling. Regular inspection and care of the DigiQ DX controller can help optimize continued performance. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Inspect the AC power cord if the unit operates intermittently or not at all. A worn or damaged power cord can impede or prevent operation, and may pose an electrical fire risk. If the cord is damaged, contact the manufacturer for a replacement part.
-
2
Ensure that the blower cable is firmly inserted into the Blower Output port if the controller fails to activate the fan in response to changing pit temperatures. Unsecured connections may result in overcooked meat. Lower the pit temperature's set point to test the blower. Press the "P" button to display the pit temperature, then use the down arrow to lower the set point to 68 degrees F. The Turbo Power Draft Fan should activate immediately. If the blower fan does not activate, contact the manufacturer's service department.

Check the food and pit temperature sensor cables if temperature readings are erratic or extremely inaccurate. Ensure that the cables are firmly inserted into the correct ports. Worn or damaged cables may result in erroneous readings or a complete detection failure. Replace worn or damaged cables.
