      Log on to your web browser. Go to PayPal's website. (See Resource 1)

      Log in to your PayPal account, or create one if you do not have an account.

      Click on the "Merchant Services" tab at the top of the page.

      Select "Payflow Gateway" in the column on the left side of your screen.

      Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click the button labeled "Sign Up" in the bottom right corner.

      Select the option "Payflow Pro" or "Payflow Link" depending on your needs as outlined under each option. Click "Go." Payflow Pro is a better solution for high transaction volume accounts. Payflow Link is a basic solution for accounts with lesser volume needs. It is important to note that both services incur a one-time set up fee in addition to a monthly fee.

      Click "Continue" at the bottom right corner of the next screen "PayPal Payflow Services." Enter your information in the next series of fields to set up your account. At the end of the sign up process, you are automatically set up for the 30-day free trial period. An HTML code will be provided to insert into your website for credit card acceptance.

      Call 888-847-2747 to add recurring billing to your merchant services account.

      Copy and paste your HTML code for your merchant services account into your website. Create a "Buy" button through your website's menu features, which varies by web hosting companies. Indicate a recurring billing option on your payment page. You can download a "Pay" or "Buy" button from PayPal as well.
