How to Make a Stem on a Pumpkin Cake
You can use a bundt cake to bake a pumpkin-shaped cake for the fall, but the pan has a hole in the middle of it. This means that your pumpkin cake will not have a stem baked onto it. This problem is readily solved by re-purposing an ice cream cone. Use a flat-bottomed cake cone instead of a pointed sugar cone for a stem that looks like a cut pumpkin stem. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup white icing
- Green food coloring
- Spatula
- Cake cone
- Orange-iced pumpkin cake
Instructions

Stir together the white icing and five to 10 drops of green food coloring to color the icing a dark green.

Spread the icing to completely cover the cake cone on all sides and the bottom.

Turn the frosted ice cream cone upside down an place it over the hole in the center of the orange-iced pumpkin cake.
