1
Limit contact with this difficult individual. Some co-workers have to work together on projects or assignments. If you can't avoid complete contact with this person, keep your distance to the best of your ability. Work together on assigned tasks and then surround yourself with positive people in the workplace. You don't have to befriend or socialize with all your co-workers.
-
2
Remain professional. Regardless of how badly someone treats you on the job, keep a professional, mature attitude and avoid bad-mouthing or gossiping behind the person's back.

3
Deal with the problem early. If this person talks about you behind your bad or speaks disrespectfully to you, confront him in private to get to the root of the problem. Keep a mild tone when speaking with the person to avoid a defensive response. State your concern, allow him to speak and then propose a workable solution.
-
4
Stand up for yourself. You can defend yourself without sinking to his level. If a bad person speaks abusively or show rudeness, kindly respond and say, "please don't talk to me in that tone," or "please don't interrupt me when I'm speaking."
-
5
Ask your employer to intervene. If you can't fix the problem on your own, talk to your employer and explain the situation. Your employer can act as a mediator to resolve any conflict or speak with the difficult person directly to uncover the underlying issues.
