1
Spray your hair liberally with clean water, getting it damp thoroughly without saturating it enough to drip.
-
2
Run the fine-tooth comb through your hair from the roots to the tips to detangle it thoroughly. Hold your head upside down and comb your hair downward from the nape of your neck. Repeat this in the same motion, downward, at either side of your head.

3
Squeeze a baseball sized amount of maximum hold mousse into the palm of one hand. Still holding your head upside down, run the mouse through your hair. Start at the hairline and smooth the mousse through your hair in downward sweeps.

4
Unhinge the banana clip and spread it open at a wide angle. Wrap it around the back of your head, at the nape of your neck. Position your hands behind your neck with the closed, pointed end of the clip at your hairline on your neck.

Gather all of your hair into the clip, and fasten it closed at the hairline where your hair meets your brow. Stand up and adjust the hair hanging out of the top of the clip. Comb it upward and to either side as you see fit.
