To optimize the results of P90X, you must be committed and dedicated to stick with the program throughout its entirety.

      Choose a P90X program that best fits your fitness needs as well as your schedule. The "Lean" schedule focuses on more cardiovascular exercises in an attempt to reduce overall body weight and burn fat tissue. The "Classic" schedule aims to build lean muscle and increase strength levels by using high-intensity resistance and strength exercises. The "Doubles" schedule is a combination of the "Lean" and "Classic" schedules.

      Follow the daily and weekly routines on your P90X schedule from beginning to finish. Over the course of 90 days, you will need to follow specific workout videos each day in order to optimize fat burning, muscle building or both. Since the P90X is designed to challenge your body with unexpected movements on a daily basis, missing a day will make the program less effective.

      Follow the recommended P90X nutrition plan. Along with the exercise schedule, P90X will also devise a nutrition plan for you to follow through all 90 days of the program. The nutrition plan is broken down into three phases, each lasting 30 days. The first phase focuses on meals with lots of protein, the second phase concentrates on balancing proteins with carbohydrates and the last phase focuses on complex carbohydrates.

      Continue to stay motivated throughout the 90-day P90X program. Since the program spans nearly three months, you must have dedication and commitment to see optimal results. If you have a friend, have him join the program with you, or utilize him as a support system.
