How to Block Orkut
Orkut is a social networking website which Google uses to compete with other active social networking sites. Many people residing in Brazil and India join this network to find new friends, and meet old ones. Anybody, regardless of location, can make an account for free. You can block the Orkut website if you do not want other people to create accounts without your knowledge.

Click the Start menu, and type "notepad" in the search box, the press the "Enter" key on your keyboard to launch Windows Notepad. Go to "Run" from the Start menu, and enter "notepad" if you are using Windows XP.

Click "File" from the Notepad menu, and click "Open." Type "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" in the "File name" text box, then click "Open."

Add the following lines of text below the last line of the hosts file:
127.0.0.1 orkut.com
127.0.0.1 www.orkut.com
127.0.0.1 orkut.co.in
127.0.0.1 www.orkut.co.in

Click the "File" from the Notepad menu, and click "Save" to save the changes. Restart your computer to make sure that it blocks Orkut.
