How to Fold the Keffiyeh
A keffiyeh is a large scarf commonly worn by Arab men. Originally, it was something worn out of necessity, to protect the head and face from sun and sand, but it is now often used as a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people or just as a fashion accessory. Both men and women can wear a keffiyeh. No matter which way you prefer to tie it around your head or neck, you must start with a fold. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Find two ends of the keffiyeh that are on the diagonal and hold them in your hand. The keffiyeh is a large square piece of fabric and you do not want the two ends that are adjacent to each other -- you want the ones diagonally across from each other.
-
2
Stretch out your arms, pulling the fabric taut. This will create a triangle shape to the keffiyeh, which is the shape that you want for wearing it.

-
3
Adjust as necessary to create a perfect triangle. At first, your triangle may be a bit lopsided. This can require moving your fingers to adjust the fabric.
-
4
Drape the keffiyeh over your head or around your neck, as you wish to wear it.
