The spinet's offset manuals allow separate bass and treble voicings.

Controlling spinet organs requires the use of all four limbs, calling for a high level of body coordination. The spinet organ features two offset manuals with independent voice settings. Performers use their right hand to perform the treble clef arrangement on the swell (upper) manual, while using their left hand to perform the bass arrangement on the great (lower) manual. In addition to offset treble and bass manuals, spinet organs feature 12 foot pedals that span a single bass octave.
