How to Cure Armpit Smell
Armpits are a part of the human body which go largely ignored -- until they become a source of odor. The smell produced under your arms is a result of bacteria breeding in your sweat. Although this is a natural occurrence, it is an undesirable and potentially embarrassing one that can be averted by adding a few simple steps to your daily grooming routine. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Deodorant bodywash or soap
- Antiperspirant
- Razor
- 1 tsp. hydrogen peroxide
- 8 oz. water
Instructions
-
-
1
Shower using a deodorant soap or bodywash. Dry the skin under your arms completely.
-
2
Apply an antiperspirant right away.
-
-
3
Keep your underarms dry. When working out or playing sports, periodically wipe down with a towel.
-
4
Wash workout and exercise clothing regularly. Bacteria can breed in clothes that you sweat in, cancelling out efforts you have made to remove bacteria from your skin.
-
5
Shave under your arms. Removing underarm hair can reduce the presence of excess bacteria, sweat and odor.
-
6
Wipe your armpits with a washcloth dipped in a combination of hydrogen peroxide and water. The solution should contain 8 oz. of water and 1 tsp. hydrogen peroxide.

Tips & Warnings
Deodorant will not provide the same protection as an antiperspirant. Deodorants cover the smell on your skin but cannot prevent sweat, which is a key part of producing odor.
Excessive sweating and odor that does not respond to at-home or over-the-counter products may signal a more significant problem. Consult with your doctor to explore other options for alleviating these issues.
